Day 13: Deliverance Through Fasting
“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.” PSALM 34:17 NKJV
The Bible gives us multiple examples of how fasting can bring freedom and breakthrough in our lives.
In Isaiah 58:6, the prophet reveals a powerful key to experiencing God’s supernatural deliverance in our lives as he writes the word of God, “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?”
In Mark chapter 9, Jesus’ disciples came face-to-face with an evil spirit they couldn’t cast out. Jesus, however, was able to cast out the evil spirit and told them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.” (Mark 9:29 NKJV)
Prayer and fasting are two key spiritual disciplines that Jesus has taught us to use when seeking deliverance in our lives.
On your 13th day of fasting, remember:
● Freedom and breakthrough are available to you.
● Deliverance is yours through Jesus Christ.
● God wants to free you, loose bonds, and break any heavy yokes in your life.
Prayer Focus:
Pray for freedom and breakthrough as you fast.
Reflection Question: What burden, yoke, or sin are you believing for freedom from as you fast?
